Where the World Wants to Wed!
When it comes to destination weddings, love apparently has a postcode preference, and it's surprisingly specific. Google search data reveals that couples worldwide are overwhelmingly drawn to Las Vegas for their big day abroad. While this might perplex those who associate romance with gondola rides or castle ceremonies, there's clearly something irresistible about exchanging vows in a city where you can get married by Elvis and hit the blackjack tables before the honeymoon officially begins.
North America:
Americans and Canadians show refreshing honesty, both dreaming of Mexican destination weddings. It’s actually rather sensible – reliable sunshine, decent flight times, and beaches that guarantee your wedding photos won’t need a flattering filter. Plus, when your guests are nursing tequila-induced headaches, they’re less likely to complain about your speech going on too long.

South America:
Most South American countries are firmly in the Vegas camp, but Peru and Argentina have gone completely off-piste, fantasising about Indian destination weddings. It’s quite a commitment – Indian weddings are famously elaborate affairs that can span several days. Clearly, some couples believe that if you’re going to travel for your wedding, you might as well make it properly memorable.

Europe:
Most European countries dream of Las Vegas weddings, which is rather ironic given Europe’s abundance of genuinely romantic destinations.Italy remains admirably loyal to home turf – which is fair enough when you’ve got Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast as your local options. Poland’s Dubai obsession suggests they’ve decided that if you’re going for kitsch, you might as well go over the top.

Asia:
Asian preferences are wonderfully eclectic, spanning Vegas to Italy to Britain. Japan’s particular fondness for UK destination weddings is rather touching – they’ve clearly romanticised our ability to plan outdoor ceremonies with complete confidence that it definitely won’t rain (spoiler: it will).

Africa:
African countries show the most adventurous spirit, dreaming of destinations from France to Sweden to Cyprus. It’s like the continent looked at wedding planning and decided that predictability is overrated – why settle for obvious when you could have your reception under the midnight sun?

Oceania:
Australia wants Vegas (naturally), while New Zealand sensibly opts for Fiji. The Kiwis have done the maths: when you already live in one of the world’s most photogenic countries, the logical next step is upgrading to somewhere with even better beaches and tropical cocktails.

The overwhelming Vegas preference suggests that when it comes to destination weddings, couples worldwide have decided that efficiency and entertainment value trump traditional romance – and frankly, there’s something refreshingly honest about that approach.
